Description:	Sherm Edwards learned the confectionery trade in the late 1940's when he joined a family business that had been making quality chocolates since the early twentieth century. Sherm ventured out on his own in 1972 with Edwards Candies on the North Side of Pittsburgh. In 1977, Sherm and Dorothy purchased the old McBride Movie Theatre in Trafford, renovated it and opened for business as Sherm Edwards Candies on December 8th, 1978. David came on board in 1983 and opened our second store in Monroeville in 1994, and our third in Plum in 1996. We are, for the most part, a retail business, but we also wholesale and fundraise. Wholesale is about 25% of our business, and our fundraising program is unique in the area. We fundraise with gift certificates that can be redeemed in any one of our two stores.
